It’s been quite the semester…

First off, nothing went according to plan this semester…nothing. XD But, despite it sounding like I should have known better, or that it sucked, it was a great semester. The people really, really made it amazing.

I expected to learn a ton, and really hone my skills this last semester. I did learn a ton—not only about art, but also about relationships in general. Man,  it was tough. It’s easy to be told not to worry, when, of course, it’s the only thing on your mind. But what I learned is to keep an open heart—to have the the courage to love with all your heart, and not be afraid of what might happen. I thought I knew what it meant to have an open mind and heart, but this semester really tested me. I got to know who my good friends were, and why and how we became good friends. One thing: don’t force it; once you meet, it’s not really up to you, just let a relationship take its course.

I’m really glad it’s summer because it’s recovery time. Sleep and draw until the next semester begins. I am very thankful for the people in my life, especially the ones I’ve just met, and the ones I’ve become closer to. They’re all amazing people. :)

Diminutive Horrors by Adam Makarenko

We’re most afraid of things we cannot see, but what about the things that are just really tiny? Adam hand-crafts each piece down to the most intricate detail, before arranging them for their extreme close-ups. The result are fascinating glimpses into horrific scenes with no context but left to the machinations of your own mind to explain.

"Good directors not only possess strong analytical
skills themselves but also can harness
the analytical power and life experiences of
their staff members. They are superb listeners
and strive to understand the thinking behind
every suggestion. They appreciate all contributions,
regardless of where or from whom they
originate, and use the best ones."
